Frank Gorshin was an American actor, impressionist, and comedian. He played the Riddler on Batman in the 1960s, and was also known for his many television, film, and talk show appearances.

Frank was the son of Frances/Fanny/Frančiška (Prešeren), a seamstress, and Frank Gorshin, a railroad worker. His father was born in Pennsylvania, to Slovenian parents. His mother was an emigrant from Regrča Vas, near Novo Mesto, of Lower Carniola, in Slovenia. His parents sang in the Slovenian Singing Society Prešeren, named after Slovenian poet France Prešeren.

He was married to Christina Randazzo, until his death, with whom he had a son.

Frank’s paternal grandfather was named Jožef/Joseph Goršin (the son of Janez Goršin and Antonija). Jožef was born in Novo mesto.

Frank’s paternal grandmother was named Marija Ciglar.
