Caroline’s paternal grandfather was Monroe M. Polachek (the son of Arthur/Aron Polachek and Barbara Baura Aneisz/Aneis). Monroe was born in Slovakia, to a Jewish family. Arthur was born in Lastomír, Michalovce District, Košice Region. Barbara was born in Csap, Kárpátalja, Ukraine, the daughter of Tsvi Hersch Aneis/Aneisz and Mariam/Miriam Auslander.
