Aly Raisman is an American artistic gymnast. She is the daughter of Lynn (Faber) and Rick Raisman. She is Jewish, of Russian Jewish, Ukrainian Jewish, and Lithuanian Jewish descent.

Aly’s paternal grandmother is Martin Raisman (the son of Hyman Raisman and Beatrice Wartow). Hyman was born in Russia, the son of Samuel Raisman, who was from Rivne, Ukraine, and of Sara Gonick. Beatrice was born in Massachusetts, the daughter of Joseph Morris Wartow, who was born in Russia, and of Esther Feldman, who was born in Kiev, Ukraine.

Aly’s paternal grandmother was Nancy Annis (the daughter of Morris Annis and Lillian Knoff). Nancy was born in Massachusetts. Morris was the son of Isadore Annis and Rishke Rose Bris, whose family was from Lithuania. Lillian was the daughter of Charles Knoff and Rebecca.
