She was also billed as Terry Garr.

Her parents, Phyllis Lind (born Emma Schmotzer) and Eddie Garr (born Edward Leo Gonnoud/Gonnound), were both entertainers. Her father was a vaudeville performer, comedian, and actor. Her mother was a dancer, Rockette, wardrobe mistress, studio costumer, and model. Her father was of Irish descent and her mother was of ethnic German descent. She was raised in Lakewood, near Cleveland; New Jersey; and Los Angeles, California, primarily in North Hollywood. Teri had a daughter with her former husband, contractor John O’Neil.

Teri’s maternal grandfather was named Louis/Ludwig J. Schmotzer. Louis was born in Metzenseifen, Hungary (today Medzev, Slovakia).

I think Theresa was also from Metzenseifen, since I found the last name Gindel in the town. If so, then both of Teri’s maternal grandparents were Zipser Germans.
