Randolph Scott was an American actor. His films included Jesse James, Susannah of the Mounties, Frontier Marshal, Virginia City, My Favorite Wife, When the Daltons Rode, Western Union, Belle Starr, Bombardier, The Desperadoes, Gung Ho!, Belle of the Yukon, The Doolins of Oklahoma, The Stranger Wore a Gun, and Ride the High Country. He was one of the biggest stars of the 1940s and 1950s.
He was the son of Lucy Lionberger (Crane) and George Grant Scott, a CPA. He was married to Patricia Stillman, until his death. The couple had two children, who were adopted.
Randolph’s paternal grandfather was Tarlton Woodson Scott, Jr. (the son of Tarlton Woodson Scott and Ellen Johnson). Randolph’s grandfather Tarlton was born in Southampton County, Virginia.
