Luis Aparicio is a Venezuelan professional baseball player. He was a shortstop, and is a Hall of Famer for the Chicago White Sox. He was the first player from Venezuela to be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He was nicknamed “Little Louie.”

His father was Major League Baseball player Luis Aparicio Ortega. His uncle was professional baseball player and manager Ernesto Aparicio. He began playing in the U.S. in the 1950s. He is married to Sonia Llorente.

Luis’s paternal grandparents were named Leónidas Aparicio and Adelina Ortega.
