Konstantin Päts was an Estonian politician. He was the first President of Estonia, from 24 April, 1938 to 23 July, 1940, as well as Prime Minister of the Provisional Government of Estonia, from 12 November, 1918 to 8 May, 1919, the 6th Prime Minister of Estonia, in duties of the State Elder of Estonia, from 24 January, 1934 to 3 September 1937, and President-Regent of Estonia, from 3 September, 1937 to 9 May, 1938. He was also Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Provisional Government of Estonia, from 24 February, 1918 to 12 November, 1918, and State Elder of Estonia, from 25 January, 1921 to 21 November, 1922, from 2 August, 1923 to 26 March, 1924, from 12 February, 1931 to 19 February, 1932, from 1 November, 1932 to 18 May, 1933, and again, from 21 October, 1933 to 24 January, 1934.
Konstantin’s father, Jakob Päts, was a housebuilder from Heimtali, near Viljandi. Konstantin’s mother, Olga (Tumanova), was from a mixed Estonian-Russian family and as an orphan grew up with foster parents in the Razumovsky family, where the father, her uncle, was the mayor of Valga. Konstantin was married to Wilhelma Ida Emilie “Helma” Peedi, until her death, with whom he had two children.
Konstantin’s patrilineal ancestry can be traced to his fourth great-grandfather, Piisko Päts (c. 1685 – 10 March 1745, Holstre, Viljandi Parish, Viljandi County).
Konstantin’s paternal grandfather was named Hans Päts (the son of Johhan Päts and Reet). Hans was born in Holstre/Holstfershof, Paistu kh. Johhan was the son of Hans Päts and Eeva/Ewa Päts. Reet was the daughter of Hans and Eva.
Konstantin’s paternal grandmother was Mall Wirak (the daughter of Jürri/Jüri Wirak and Mari Särev). Mall was born in Heimtali/Heimthal, Paistu khk. Jürri was the son of Jaan Wirak. Mari was the daughter of Willematsi Juhkam Särrev/Särrew/Särev.
Konstantin’s adoptive maternal grandfather was Hariton Tumanov. Hariton was born in Sloka/Schlock, the son of Foma Ivanov and Aliona Stepanova.
Konstantin’s biological maternal grandmother was named Sofia Razumovskaja (the daughter of Grigori Razumovski). Grigori was the son of Grigori Razumovski.
