He was the son of Pesach (or Marcos in Spanish) Plattring and Lea Afner. Enrique’s great-great-uncle and aunt, Naftali and his wife Antonie (Sommer), were deported from Berlin to Riga Ghetto during Holocaust, where they were last seen alive, and presumed killed.
