Bill Finger was an American writer of comic books and comic strips. Along with Bob Kane, he created the DC Comics superhero Batman (Bruce Wayne).

Bill was the son of Tessie (Hacker) and Louis Fingerman/Finger. His father was a Jewish immigrant from Austria and/or Poland. His mother was born in New York, of German Jewish descent. He had a son with his former wife Portia.
