Dalia Grybauskaitė is a Lithuanian politician. She has served as President of Lithuania, from 12 July, 2009 to 12 July, 2019. She was also Minister of Finance, from 12 July, 2001 to 1 May, 2004, European Commissioner for Education and Culture, co-serving, from 1 May, 2004 to 11 November, 2004, and European Commissioner for Financial Programming and the Budget, from 22 November, 2004 to 1 July, 2009. She is known as “Iron Lady” and “Steel Magnolia.”
Dalia is the daughter of Vitalija (Korsakaitė) and Polikarpas Grybauskas.
Dalia’s paternal grandfather was Vladislavas Grybauskas (the son of Zacharijus Grybauskas and Elžbieta Stauskaitė). Vladislavas was born in Raseinių aps., Vosiliškio bžn., Dievogalos k. Zacharijus was the son of Kazimieras Grybauskas and Anelė Daugėlaitė.
Dalia’s paternal grandmother was Julija Vainulavičiūtė (the daughter of Adomas Vainulavičius and Morta Vainulavičienė). Morta’s mother’s surname was Matulytė.
Dalia’s maternal grandfather was Petras Korsakas (the son of Leopoldas Korsakas and Marijona Ausiejutė). Leopoldas was the son of Jurgis Korsakas and Ieva Milišiūnaitė. Marijona was the daughter of Jonas Ausiejus and Elžbieta Balčiūnaitė.
Dalia’s maternal grandmother was Elena Briedytė (the daughter of Adomas Briedis and Kotryna Jurenaite). Elena was born in Nemunėlio Radviliškis, Biržų rajonas. Adomas was the son of Martynas Briedis and Kristina Zimkaite. Kotryna was the daughter of Mykolas Vincentas Jurenas and Barbora Briedyte.
