Freddie Roach is an American professional boxer and boxing trainer. He is regarded as one of the best boxing trainers. He is also known as Master Roach, La Cucaracha, and The Choir Boy.
He is the son of Barbara and Paul Roach.
Freddie’s paternal grandfather was Dominick Percy Roach (the son of Pépin Roach and Louise Doucet). Dominick was a Canadian emigrant, from Chéticamp, Nova Scotia, and was of French-Canadian descent. Pépin was the son of Frédéric Roach and Henriette Deveau. Louise was the daughter of Dominique Doucet and Joséphine Muise.
Freddie’s paternal grandmother was Jessie Lambert Pushard (the daughter of Frederick B. “Fred” Pushard and Effie McLeod). Jessie was born in Massachusetts. Frederick was born in Maine, the son of Warren Pushard and Mary Lambert. Effie was born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, to Philip McLeod and Jessie McLeod. Philip and Jessie were born with the same surname.
