Kevin Sorbo is an American actor. He is known for playing the title role in the series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.

Kevin is married to actress Sam Jenkins, with whom he has three children.

Kevin’s paternal grandfather was Selmer Cornelius Sorbo (the son of Nels Olesson Sorbo and Caroline/Carolina/Karolina Johnson/Syvertsdtr Haugerud). Selmer was born in Iowa. Nels was born in Vang, Oppland, Norway, the son of Ole Gulbrandsen/Gulbrandsson Opdal Sorbo and Gunvor Knutsdatter Lunde. Caroline was born in Iowa, to Norwegian parents, Syver Johnson Haugerud and Inger Olsdatter Fjøsvigen/Fjosvigen.

Kevin’s paternal grandmother was Bertha Rodina Loberg (the daughter of Ludvig P. Loberg and Ellen Ferley/Jonson/Johnson). Bertha was born in Iowa. Ludvig and Ellen were born in Iowa, both of them to Norwegian parents. Ludvig was the son of Petter/Peter Pedersen Loberg and Anna/Anne P. Larsdatter. Ellen was the daughter of Anders Foli/Ferley/Jonson/Johnson and Brita/Betsy Guttormsdatter Bo/Boe/Thompson.

Kevin’s maternal grandfather was Lester Samuel Thompson (the son of Charles Walter Thompson and Della May Fife). Lester was born in Iowa. Some of Kevin’s mother’s family has lived in the United States for several generations, and their ancestry included Scottish and English. Charles was the son of Thomas Jefferson Thompson and Amanda Matilda Dean. Della was the daughter of Samuel Fife and Frances A. White.
