Carmen Martínez-Bordiú y Franco, 2nd Duchess of Franco, Grandee of Spain, is a Spanish aristocrat and social figure.

Carmen was born in the Palacio Real de El Pardo, Madrid, and is the daughter of Cristóbal Martínez-Bordiú y Ortega, 10th Marquis of Villaverde, and Carmen Franco y Polo, 1st Duchess of Franco, Grandee of Spain.

Carmen is married to José Campos García. She has two children with her former husband, Alfonso, Duke of Anjou and Cádiz, and a daughter with her former husband, Jean-Marie Rossi, from France.

Carmen’s paternal grandfather was José María Martínez y Ortega (the son of Andrés Martínez y Cobo de Guzmán and Catalina Ortega y Toledo). José María was born in Mancha Real, Jaén, Andalucía. Andrés was the son of Tomás Martínez y Rodríguez and Josefa Isabel Cobo de Guzmán y Ardio.

Carmen’s paternal grandmother was María de la O Esperanza Bordiú y Bascarán, 7th Countess of Argillo (the daughter of Cristóbal Bordiú y de Prat, Ninth Marquis of Villaverde, and María de la O Bascarán y Reina). Carmen’s grandmother María, 7th Countess, was born in Madrid, Community of Madrid. Cristóbal, Ninth Marquis, was the son of Luis Bordiú y Garcés de Marcilla, Eighth Marquis of Villaverde, and of María del Carmen Prat y Sánchez-Salvador. Carmen’s great-grandmother María de la O was the daughter of José de Bascarán y Federic and María Adelaida de Reina Visset-Fernández de Córdoba.

Carmen’s maternal grandfather was Francisco Franco Bahamonde (the son of Nicolás Franco y Salgado-Araújo and María del Pilar Bahamonde y Pardo de Andrade). Francisco was born in Ferrol, Galicia, Spain. He was Caudillo of Spain, from 1 October, 1936 to 20 November, 1975, his death, and also President of the Government of Spain, from 30 January, 1938 to 8 June, 1973. Nicolas was the son of Francisco Franco y Vietti and Hemergilda Salgado-Araújo y Pérez. He belonged to six uninterrupted generations of the Spanish Navy, and was of Andalusian descent. María del Pilar was the daughter of Ladislao Bahamonde y Ortega and María del Pilar Pardo de Andrade y Pardo de Andrado.

Carmen’s maternal grandmother was Carmen Polo y Martínez-Valdés, 1st Lady of Meirás, Grandee of Spain (the daughter of Felipe Polo y Flórez de Vereterra and Ramona Martínez-Valdés y Martínez-Valdés). Carmen was born in Oviedo, Asturias, Spain. Felipe was a wealthy lawyer from Palencia, Castile and León, and was the son of Claudio Polo y Astudillo and Bonifacia Flórez de Vereterra. Ramona was the daughter of Rafael Martínez-Valdés and María de la Caridad Martínez-Valdés.
