Daniel Noboa is an Ecuadorian politician, businessperson, and heir. He has served as President of Ecuador, since 23 November, 2023. He was previously a Member of the National Assembly from Santa Elena, from 14 May, 2021 to 17 May, 2023.

Daniel was born in Miami, Florida, U.S., to Ecuadorian parents, business magnate and politician Álvaro Noboa (Álvaro Fernando Noboa Pontón) and doctor of medicine and politician Anabella Azín (Annabella Emma Azín Arce). His father founded exporting business Noboa Corporation, for which Daniel has worked; and has also run for President of Ecuador. His mother is president of the Crusade for a New Humanity Foundation, and was a member of the National Congress of Ecuador from the Province of Guayas, from 2007 to 2008. His aunt is businessperson Isabel Noboa, who is founder and chief executive officer of the Nobis Consortium.

He is married to businessperson, nutritionist, and social media influencer Lavinia Valbonesi, with whom he has two children.

Daniel’s paternal grandfather was Luis Adolfo Noboa Naranjo (the son of Luis Adolfo Noboa Ledesma and Zoila Matilde Naranjo Villota). Luis was the son of Carlos Luis Noboa Benítes and Rosa Ledesma Salinas. Zoila was the daughter of Roberto Naranjo Vásconez and Delia María Villota Arias.

Daniel’s paternal grandmother was Isabel Gloria Pontón Ávila (the daughter of Carlos Federico Pontón Intriago and Adelina Ávila Irigoyen). Carlos was the son of Carlos Alberto Pontón Betancourt and María Trinidad Intriago Zevallos. Adelina was the daughter of Damaso Ávila Minuche and Petra Dominga Irigoyen Tumbes.

Daniel’s maternal grandfather was Giorgio Azín Della Volpe (the son of Guiseppe Azín and Rafaela Della Volpe). Giorgio was born in Italy.

Daniel’s maternal grandmother was Grecia/Grace María Arce Paulson (the daughter of Pedro Pablo Arce Martínez and Emma Ernestina Paulson Moulis). Emma was the daughter of Pedro Guillermo Paulson Nielsen, who was born in Tvedestrand, Tvedestrand, Aust-Agder, Norway; and of Juana Ernestina Mouliks Boza, whose father was French.
