Michael Smerconish is an American radio host and television presenter, newspaper columnist, author, and lawyer. He is the host of The Michael Smerconish Program on radio and Smerconish on CNN.
Michael is the son of Florence and Walter Smerconish. He is married to Lavinia Nardini.
Michael’s paternal grandfather was Wasil N. Smerakanich (the son of Elias/Elko Smerakanich and Anna Dehra). Wasil was born in Pennsylvania, to parents from Galicia. They were of the Orthodox Christian religion.
Michael’s paternal grandmother was Mildred Walker (the daughter of Domenico Vaccaro/Walker and Mary Capparell). Mildred was born in Pennsylvania, to Italian parents, from Cosenza, Calabria. Domenico was born in Lungro, the son of Nicolo Vacaro and Rose Ferrara. Mary was the daughter of Saverio Capparell and Martha Cortese.
Michael’s maternal grandfather was Nikola Mirkov Grujicich/Grujcic/Grovich (the son of Marko Grujicich/Grujcic and Plana Krannem). Nikola was born in Montenegro.
Michael’s maternal grandmother was named Vukica/Victoria Ivanisevich/Ivanicevich (the daughter of Milo Ivanisevich and Milica). Vukica was born in Cetinje, a village in Montenegro, formerly Yugoslavia.

Is he Serbian?
Montenegrins are usually considered a subgroup of Serbian, in the same way as Albanians from Kosovo are still Albanian.

It’s very possible that his grandparents identified as ethnically Serbian on censuses and immigration records. I haven’t found any yet though.
He always reminded me of this guy from House of 1000 Corpses, at least in looks and voice (not the hair, though).
I always imagine Michael shouting, “hope you like what you see!,” just like in the movie.
