Maxi Jazz was a British musician, rapper, singer, songwriter, and DJ. He was the lead vocalist of electronic band Faithless. The group’s members also include Sister Bliss.
Both of Maxi’s parents were Jamaican. His mother’s maiden name was McDonald. Maxi was raised partly in West Norwood, Lambeth. He was a Nichiren Buddhist, and a member of Soka Gakkai International.

He is often said to have been born 1957 in London, but I couldn’t any birth record of a “Maxwell A Fraser” around that year. The only one that seemed plausible was the one I linked, that says he was born in 1946.
Maybe he was born in Jamaica.
