Magic Johnson is an American professional basketball player. He was president of basketball operations of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. He retired from the game prematurely in 1991, after becoming HIV-positive.

Magic is the son of Christine and Earvin Jonhson, Sr. He is married to Earlitha “Cookie” Kelly. He has a son with Melissa Mitchell; and two children, including television personality and socialite EJ Johnson, with Earlitha. Magic is a Christian.

Magic’s paternal grandmother was named Lillie Mae.
