Half English + half German. paternal grandparents John L. Dukenfield (1810-1867) and Ann W. Lyden (1815) were indeed English, however mothers side was of German descent.
Thomas Jones Felton (1827-1882) was born in Philadelphia the son of Godfrey Felton I (1787) and Catherine Fulmer (1789), both from Philadelphia. Godfrey was the son of Gottfried Felton (1760) and Elizabeth Page (1760). Although Gottfired and Elizabeth were born in France they were of German ancestry. Catherine was the daughter of John Fulmer Sr. (1763) and Anna Maria Krauskop (1764).
Ann Eliza Miller (1835-1903) was the daughter of John Miller (1797) PA and Catherine Ominsetter (1798) PA. John Miller was the son of Abraham Miller and Mary Peck who were both from Pennsylvania.Catharine was the daughter of Christopher Ominsetter and Maria Catharina Ominsetter. To conclude W.C. Fields ethnicity should be half English, half German/Swiss German.
