A lot of White people swear up and down they have Native American blood and it’s usually bull monkey- it’s so funny because usually they have typical Caucasian features and coloring when Natives generally (let’s be real) had blue-black hair and black-brown eyes and brown skin-all of which tend to be dominant genes. Often times they say it to seem more interesting or something I don’t know but (in the South especially) it would seem to me that there are more African Americans that have some Native American heritage. Idk how reliable your source was Native Pride smh.

It is a very interesting topic. It is very hard to find the percentage of Native American in white populations. There doesn’t seem to be many studies done. The European man that came to the US initially were mostly without women so they would have took Native American wives. I’ll keep looking for a study but surprisingly there doesn’t seem to be many done. I’m sure the percentages of Native blood in both white and black groups is over estimated. The Native American population wasn’t that large to begin with and there was massive amounts of death unfortunately. It does seem that everyone wants to have that Cherokee Princess in their lineage.

umm the first recorded slaves were brought by spaniards to spanish florida in the 1590’s and the first african slaves to the northern parts of america by the dutch in 1611… black people have been in the americas quite long enough sweetheart and in many situations interacted more with native people because of similar experiences of oppression and similarities in traditional ideas of spirituality and religion AND because white people weren’t exatly beloved by native americans so when it came to transactions and dealings the best populations to use as sort of ambassadors were blacks mixed with both white and native american because they understood all those languages and because they weren’t seen as enemies. black people easily escaped and formed maroon societies with native tribes and were taken in and not seen as threats. black people could travel into indian territory without fear of death compared to white people etc… . just because someone is white doesn’t mean they came over in the may flower theres quite a lot of recent european immigrants that just came over in the early 1900s and mid 1800s hell some people cant trace their family back before ellis island.
