Sebastian Kurz is an Austrian politician. He has served as Chancellor of Austria, from 18 December, 2017 to 28 May, 2019, and again, from 7 January, 2020 to 11 October 11, 2021. He has also been Minister of Foreign Affairs, from 16 December, 2013 to 18 December, 2017, Chair of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, from 1 January, 2017 to 18 December, 2017, and Chairman of the People’s Party, from 14 May, 2017 to 3 December, 2021.

Chancellor Kurz’s father, Josef Kurz, is an engineer. Chancellor Kurz’s mother, Elisabeth (Döller), is a teacher. He has one child with his partner, economics teacher Susanne Their.

Sebastian’s maternal grandmother was named Magdalena Müller. She was born in Temerin, Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (today Vojvodina, Serbia), and was a Danube Swabian. She settled in Zogelsdorf, now in Austria, during World War II, after the Yugoslav Partisans and the Red Army started moved into her birth territory.
