Sami Yusuf is a British singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer.

He was born in Tehran, to Azerbaijani parents. His grandparents left Baku, in Azerbaijan, when it was captured by the Bolsheviks in 1918. His family moved to Ealing, West London, in the early 1980s, after the Iranian Revolution of 1979. Sami is a Sunni Muslim. He is married, and his wife converted to Islam.
