Richard Widmark was an American actor and producer.

Richard was the son of Ethel Mae/May (Barr) and Carl Henry Widmark. His father was of Swedish and Norwegian descent. His mother had English and Irish ancestry. Richard was married to screenwriter Jean Hazlewood, until her death, and to socialite, lyricist, and producer Susan Blanchard, until his death. He had a daughter with Jean. Susan was the daughter of interior designer Dorothy Hammerstein.

Richard’s paternal grandfather was Salomon/Solomon Samuel/Olofsson Vidmark (the son of Olof Olofsson Vidmark and Gustava Gustavasdotter). Solomon was born in Gummark, Sweden. Olof was the son of Olof Olofsson and Ulrika Persdotter.

Richard’s paternal grandmother was named Carrie. Carrie was born in Norway.
