Peter is the son of Wanda Marie (Johnson) and William Popham Krause.

Peter’s paternal grandfather was William George Krause (the son of John Julius Krause and Augusta E. “Gustie” Schumacher). William was born in Minnesota. John was born in Posen, Prussia (now Germany). Augusta was also born in Germany, the daughter of William Schumacher and Louisa Lentz.

Peter’s paternal grandmother was Gertrude Louise Popham (the daughter of William Henry Popham and Pauline Grams). Gertrude was born in Minnesota. William was the son of English parents, John Popham and Hannah Neath. Pauline was born in Possin (Posen), Germany, the daughter of Christoph/Christof Grams and Emilie Doege.
