Peter Cetera is an American singer, songwriter, bassist, and producer. He was an original member of rock band Chicago, before launching a successful solo career.

He is the son of Margarita/Margaret/Margret and Peter Paul Cetera. Peter’s paternal grandparents were Polish immigrants. Peter’s maternal grandparents were Hungarian immigrants, and likely had ethnic German ancestry. Peter has a daughter, artist, actress, singer, producer, and competitive snowboarder Claire Cetera, with his wife Diane Nini; and a daughter with his partner Blythe Weber.

Peter’s paternal grandfather was named Jacob/Jakub Cetera.

Peter’s paternal grandmother was named Sophia “Sophie” Stojak.

Peter’s maternal grandfather was Ferencz “Frank” Xavéri Bechthold (the son of Márton Bechthold and Magdolna Krebsz).

Peter’s maternal grandmother was Mária “Mary” Bechthold (the daughter of Tamás Bechthold and Mária Mayer).
