She is quite pale and obviously European looking Spaniard.
In the movie Spanglish, she had fake tan to act as Mexican but still she didn’t typical Mexican at all.

To be mexican doesn’t mean you are not white. There are many spanish decent and spanish/european*-mexican all over the country. And the spanish have a remarkable arabian decent.

    • jokin says:

only some spaniards have some arabian ancestry, specially those from the very south of spain. The northern areas, for example, dont have a tiny drop of arabian ancestry..

  3. the punisher says:

If she play a Mexican role is because Spaniards are not white

    • jokin says:

Spaniards are not White?? Spain is in europe, i repeat europe, where White people originally come from. Period.

Some southern spanish regions like andalusia had some muslim influences more than 500 years ago, but every muslim and jew was kicked out of the country by the catholic kings before year 1500.

By the way..if she plays a mexican girl, it is because she is spanish speaking and this helps play the role. Also, mexicans can be White, i remind you that there are lots of White mexicans of european ancestry (who do not usually emigrate to the US because they are the rich White mexicans).

AND..dont forget that before the 60s in the last century, many whites used to play other ethnicities roles in the movies, like native americans etc… they used dark make- up, but OBVIOUSLY THEY WERE WHITE…..there are maaaanyyy examples….

Paz Vega is definitely White. Playing a Mexican role doesn´t make you non-White, just like playing an American role doesn´t make Catherine Zeta-Jones American.
