Pauly D, also known as DJ Pauly D, is an American television personality and disc jockey. He appeared on the MTV reality series Jersey Shore, along with Deena Nicole Cortese, Sammi Giancola, Vinny Guadagnino, JWoww, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Angelina Pivarnick, Snooki, and Michael Sorrentino.
He was born Paul DelVecchio, and is the son of Donna and Paul D. DelVecchio. Pauly has a daughter with Amanda Markert.
Pauly is known for his elaborate hairstyles and his fist-pumping.

Pauly’s maternal grandmother was Anna Box (the daughter of Salvatore Box and Teresa/Theresa Montaquila). Anna was born in Rhode Island, to Italian parents. Teresa was born in Caserta, Campania, the daughter of Carmino Montaquila and Carmela Lepre.
Various websites have speculated that Pauly is of Portuguese and/or Brazilian ancestry. This is not accurate.

Wikipedia says his mom is of “Brazilian origin”. Can you add “possibly other” under his ethnicity? There is no evidence he is solely Italian.
No. It’s bad enough someone keeps adding that uncited, tagged statement to Wikipedia. And are you serious about that Moran Atias question? Moroccans who converted to Judaism? Where do people get this stuff?

Either way, saying something =/ true. I could say I’m 100% Italian, doesn’t make it true. People have historically lied about their ethnic and racial background. His mother has an Italian surname, but there is a lot of Italian ancestry in Brazil and a lot of people who aren’t fully European in terms of their ancestry have these surnames, just like they have Portuguese surnames. The rumor of his mother being of a Brazilian origin has persisted for a long time.
Yes, good point, Pauly D is mixed with lots of exotic non-Italian stuff.
I don’t really appreciate the irony. I was just pointing out there is no evidence this guy is fully Italian, there have been celebrities who’ve claimed to have Native American ancestry and yet their family-tree showed otherwise.
