Nicky Katt is an American actor. His roles include the films Dazed and Confused, The Cure (1995), The Doom Generation, A Time to Kill, The Limey, Boiler Room, Rules of Engagement, The Way of the Gun, Insomnia (2002), Secondhand Lions, Grindhouse (Planet Terror/Death Proof), and Snow Angels, and the show Monk.

Nicky’s paternal grandfather was Orville Horton Transtrum (the son of Ola Transtrum, Jr. and Emily/Emma Christine Sorenson). Ola was born in Utah, to Swedish parents, Ola Nilsson Transtrum and Hanna Nilsodtter. Emily was born in Idaho, to a Danish father, Jorgen Sorenson, and a Swedish mother, Bendicta Hansson Osterlind.

Nicky’s paternal grandmother was Clarice Louise Mulliner (the daughter of Joseph Smith Mulliner, Jr. and Zina Estella Smith). Clarice had English, and some Scottish, ancestry. Joseph was the son of Joseph Smith Mulliner and Emily Amelia Woodard. Zina was the daughter of Willard Gilbert Smith and Huldah Cordelia Thurston.

Nicky’s maternal grandfather was The Rev. Alvin August Katt (the son of Heinrich/Henry Deitrich C. Katt and Alvina A. Muchow). The Rev. Alvin Katt was a Lutheran pastor. Heinrich was German. Alvina was born in South Dakota, to German parents.

Nicky’s maternal grandmother was named Mary Martha Kahlor (the daughter of H. O. Kahlor and Helen). Mary was born in New York, to German parents.
