Ned Beatty was an American actor. He appeared in more than 160 films, including Deliverance, Superman, Back to School, and All the President’s Men.

Ned was the son of Margaret “Maggie” (Fortney) and Charles William Beatty. He was married to Sandra Johnson, until his death. He had four children with his former wife Walta Chandler; two children with his former wife, actress Belinda Rowley; and two children with his former wife Dorothy Lindsay.

Ned’s paternal grandfather was William Cicero Beatty (the son of Miles Marion Beatty and Lydia Berry Conklin). Cicero was born in Kentucky. Miles was the son of John P. Beatty and Elmina McGrew. Lydia was the daughter of David Conklin and Lydia Cunningham.

Ned’s paternal grandmother was Minnie S. Day (the daughter of Squire J. Day and Amanda C. Kirtland/Kirkland). Minnie was born in Kentucky. Squire was the son of Elijah Day and Margaret Hartman.
