Moby is an American musician, songwriter, singer, producer, and animal rights activist.

He is the son of Elizabeth and James Frederick Hall. His family has considerable Colonial American ancestry, dating back to the 1600s.

Moby’s paternal grandfather was named John William Hall.

Moby’s paternal grandmother was Alice Beverly Albridge (the daughter of Kenneth Percy Albridge and Isabelle Irving Morrison). Alice was born in Massachusetts. Kenneth was the son of Frederick Albridge and Alice Helen Carter, who was English. Isabelle was born in Portugal, the daughter of James Morrison, who was Northern Irish, from County Down, and of Jeannie/Jennie Smith, who was Scottish.

Moby’s maternal grandfather was Myron France Warner (the son of Charles Myron Warner and Helen Genave France). Moby’s grandfather Myron was born in Nebraska. Charles was the son of Myron Winslow Warner and Susan Emeline Jobes. Helen was the daughter of Clarence Lefevre/LeFever France and Evangene/Evagene Irene Andrews.

Moby’s maternal grandmother was Jeannette/Jeanette McBride (the daughter of The Rev. Arthur Andrews/Andrew McBride and Elizabeth Hubbard Viles). Jeannette was born in Minnesota. The Rev. Arthur was the son of Frank Palmer McBride and Esther Baldwin, who was English, from Suffolk. Elizabeth was the daughter of Charles Lovell/Lowell Viles and Almira Hubbard.
