Yes and No.It’s much more complex than that, they’re several points to be made.

1)The Ancient south asians were Cushites or sons of Cush.CUSH arrived in Africa via Arabia from the indus valley and the Bab-el-Mandeb,a strait located between Yemen on the Arabian Peninsula and Djibouti and Eritrea on the horn of africa during the Iron Age B.C period.Cushites were described as average heighted, thin, brown skinned and straight black hair.

2)Nilo-Saharans were the ancient black people of that time inhabiting the whole lot of North Africa. They were described as tall, thin, dark skinned and wholly haired.

    3) The Cushites and Nilotes would later come to be referred to as the Ethiopians.Herodotus divided the Ethiopians into two;Western Ethiopians referring to the inhabitants of Africa’s Nile Valley and Eastern Ethiopians/Dravidians referring to the inhabiants of south india and india’s indus valley. Before expanding into various other regions. The epithet Kush can be associated with them and it links the geographical regions.(quoted from James.E.Brunson and Herodotus).

4)At the time of Classical Antiquity Nubia was known as Kush.As such Cush is alternatively identified with Kingdom of Kush and Ancient ethiopia.According to archeologist BB lal’ss claim that the Dravidians probably come from NUBIA,upper egypt, which would give them among other things mediterranean characteristics and dark complexion.Him and his team in India unearthed several megalithic sites from Ancient Nubians carrying an uncanny resemblance to the cemetries of early dravidians, that are found in west india from kathiawar to cape cape camorin.Even the clay rings used by the Dravidians and Nubians to store pots were identitical.

5)Also take note that all ancient Ethiopian empires such as Kush,Axum,Egypt, etc were expanded from Northeast Africa(nile regions and the horn) into Southwest Asia(southern arabia and south india).Which suggests that Cushites,Semites,Nilotes and even Aryans had intermarried before the coming of the Scythian-Persians into India.Aryan ancestry in South Indians is from the earliest inhabitants of North india, who had gone by that name, not from the Scythian-persian groups that came later on and disrupted the peaceful co-existence between the two groups. It’s also worth noting that the caste system was developed by the Cushites themselves long before the Aryans came into the picture but even so they was harmony amongst these ancient people that didn’t revolve around skin colour.

6)Back to modern day,South Indians do bare a phenotypical resemblace to horn africans and have retained various aspects of Ethiopian culture such as Ethiopian cuisine such as dosas etc among others. Also the descendants of west african slaves brought into Ethiopia, which at the time was the biggest slave market and sold into india by Muslim Cushite and Semite slave traders.Today those people reside in Gujarati,Goa,Kamataka,Daman and Diu Indian and pakistan and go by the name Siddis. The first siddis are thought to have arrived in India in 628AD.

She’s Dravidian Indian meaning she has African admixture and really dark to pitch black skin tones.I love her though but she’s really lucky to have the career she has.

@Jaclyn yes I agree with you. I think she gets over in America because Americans just do not know about other cultures. And she is super funny. But yes she would not be cast in Bollywood, yet she makes more money than any Bollywood actress.

Dravidians don’t have “African” admixture, what the hell are you talkin’ about??

      • Jacklyn 224 says:

India is a multiracial nation divided into two categories indo Aryans aka north Indians and Dravidian aka south Indians. Before the comings of Aryans/Persians,all Indians belonged to the black Dravidian race, who migrated out of Africa about 50000 years ago and had settled in south Asia mixing with the austroasianic tribes there.By African I’m talking cushites NOT Bantus but there’s a possibility that the cushtic speaking people of northeast Africa had absorbed some Bantus in their tribes hence why some south Indians might have Bantu features. This is why scientists are confused as to whether to classify them as negroids or Australoids or Caucasoids.Honestly in my opinion they are a combination of the three making them a hybrid race jusf as Pakistanis,Ethiopians, and north Indians were definitely affected by the Aryan/persians invasions that took place in the B.C. era hence also making them ancient hybrid races. Its also worth noting that some Europeans in the 19/20th century also contributed to the diverse genetic pool in those countries. With these invasions/foreign interactions taking place south Indians pretty much went unaffected hence retaining their gene pool.

South Indians are a mix of Proto-Saharans,Cushites and Ancient west eurasians.

in indian bollywood movies she would not have a chance

Bollywood movies are largely about casting for purely aesthetic purposes over substance in talent. Admittedly her complexion would unfortunately be a hindrance in securing a Bollywood role, but the truth is while the general consensus is that she’s immensely talented, she’s not particularly known for her beauty in Hollywood either. Just look at her IMDb boards, YouTube videos, etc. at the moment. They’re filled with nasty threads targeting her appearance. She’s considered a comedian, and most would agree that she got to where she is on her talent, which is an afterthought in Bollywood, not her looks. If that’s what you’re getting at, a fairer comparison would be Freida Pinto or Nina Davuluri – both ‘conventionally’ attractive women who probably wouldn’t make in Bollywood purely because of their color.
