Meredith is the daughter of Sara and Daniel Marakovits. She was raised Catholic.

Meredith’s paternal grandfather was Edward F. Marakovits (the son of Edward F. Marakovits and Mary R. Dragovits). Meredith’s grandfather Edward was born in Pennsylvania, to parents from the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Mary was born in Eisenstadt, Eisenstadt Stadt, Burgenland, Austria, the daughter of Paul Dragovits and Agnes Serensits.

Meredith’s paternal grandmother was Anna Ruszin (the daughter of John Ruszin and Catherine Barna). Anna was born in Ormrod, Pennsylvania. John was born in Slovakia, the son of Jan Rusin and Anna Sopko. Catherine was born in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Polish parents, Josephus Barna and Ann Kruk.

    Her paternal grandfather’s parente may have been Hungarian. They were from Eisenstadt, that is close to current Hungarian border, and are buried in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery
