Marc is the son of Susan and Gilbert Rebillet. His father was French, from Paris. His mother is American, from South Carolina. His parents met in Paris.

Marc’s maternal grandfather was named Phillips Lancaster Bates. Phillips was born in Alvarado, Texas, and was a medical doctor.
