Lindsay Davenport is an American professional tennis player. She was ranked World No. 1 on eight different occasions, for a total of 98 weeks.

She is married to professional tennis player and investment banker Jon Leach, with whom she has four children. Jon is the brother of tennis player and coach Rick Leach, who was Lindsay’s coach.

Lindsay’s paternal grandfather was Winthrop Davenport (the son of Frederick M. Morgan Davenport, Frederick Morgan Davenport, and of Edith Jefferson Andrus). Winthrop was born in Massachusetts. Frederick was a Republican, politician, who served as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from New York, from March 4, 1925 to March 3, 1933. He was the son of David Daniel Davenport, who was born in Massachusetts, to an English father and to a Scottish mother; and of Anna Louise Green, who born in Massachusetts, to Irish parents. Lindsay’s great-grandmother Edith was born in New York. Edith’s father, John Emory Andrus, was a Republican, politician, and served as Mayor of Yonkers, New York, in 1903, and as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from New York, from March 4, 1905 to March 3, 1913; his own father was a Methodist minister. Edith’s mother was Julia Marie/Maria Dyckman, who was Swiss.

Lindsay’s paternal grandmother was Elizabeth Mae Langford (the daughter of Ralph Word Langford and Edna Mae Marvin). Elizabeth was born in Georgia. Ralph was the son of John Robert Langford and Mary Elizabeth “Mollie” Hurst. Edna was the daughter of George Henry Marvin and Lebbie Mills.

Lindsay’s maternal grandfather Fred/Friedrich W. Jeberjahn (the son of Friedrich Karl August Jeberjahn and Emma Luise Anna Johanna Siggelkow). Lindsay’s grandfather Fred was born in Berlin, Germany.
