    To Nick the Historian

Nick you are correct in stating the Greeks are white but so are Italians and you should be aware that Sicilians as confirmed by genetics are at least 50 % Greek via DNA. Remember that that Sicily and S Italy in ancient days was known as Magna Grecia cause were more Greeks via colonization living in Italy then Greece itself in ancient days and that Syracuse in Sicily was the 2nd cultural center of the Greek world next to Athens.

Do to a common genetic hertitage Greeks and Italians ( yes Sicilians are Italian) Greeks and Italians look similar. Sylvester Stallone has what people would describe as a GreoRoman look. and Greeks and Italians can range from blond to dark brunette hair.

While no race is 100% pure and yes there is some Germanic blood in Italians and some Slavic blood in Greeks genetic studies show that the ancient genes still predominate thats why Greeks and italians loiok similar

Take it from me a Greek Italian Historian and the latest DNA research

Well, I dont know how many natural blonds you can find in either Greece or south Italy..

I think it’s strange how when Italians are brought up, all people want to do is discuss the Moors. But their history is so much more than that. The Moors impact on Italy is overstated and grossly exaggerated genetically and historically. It’s kind of annoying because that is all you ever hear about on the Internet. It’s like people know of nothing else.

Italians are Europeans just like the French and Germans. Sicilians are also Italians. Yes, it is a possibility that some have mixed with North Africans and Greeks (which by the way are also Europeans) which have given them darker olive-toned complexions but I assure you…..I am full Italian and nothing else and everyone, EVERYONE is convinced I’m Irish due to the fact that I have very fair skin and blue eyes with red hair. I have also been compared to a slew of actresses who are EITHER at least half Irish OR are of either Swedish or Norweigan descent in part! Italians are Europeans. They are not Africans or Turkish. This is such a misconception because hollywood only chooses to display Italians that are darker in complexion. Jersey Shore hasn’t helped either. Half of the Jersey Shore cast are not even Italian and if they are they are only half! Unless Italy has moved from where I remember it on the map, it is still considered European. It annoys me when I tell people I’m Italian and everyone says that my ancestors MUST be from northern Italy! Italy is Italy and I have researched on the origins of the names of all my great grandparents and they all were names derived from Naples which is in mid-Italy! We are Europeans!

Hey ethnic, I think Kristin Cavallari is also German, hence her mother’s maiden last name is “Eifrig” which is a German last name. So I think she’s Italian & German.

  5. Michelle Cavallari says:

Cavallari is not sicilian, at least not according to my grandmother and grandfather. We are definately Italian. Also, having that dark golden blonde hair myself, I assure you all that she is italian too.
