Jennifer Beals is an American actress and model. She is known for her roles in the movies Flashdance and Devil in a Blue Dress. Her father, Alfred Leroy Beals, was African-American. Her mother, Jeanne Anderson, was white, and had Irish ancestry. Jennifer is married to Canadian entrepreneur Ken Dixon, with whom she has a daughter.

    Just by looking at that photo alone I’d say that she is Greek, Maltese or Near Eastern.

    After all, anyway, most people who have a half Germanic/Celtic and Indian or African ancestry would look Middle Eastern or Southern European.

    IDK about, many of the roles I’ve seen her in, she played what she is, mixed. The L word, for 5 yrs she played a mixed blood.The Prophecy II ,Devil in a Blue Dress ,Feast of All Saints ,A House Divided. All of these within the last 30yrs. I don’t think her other roles actually mention what her backgrounds were. Could be you were just assuming she was playing white.
