I really don’t get people like Yeravam or AvaSnow who come on her and reply to 5, 10 year old comments, and it’s ALWAYS in an attacking and ad hominem manner. Why are people so miserable or always looking for a fight? Like, WHY do you need to reply to years’ old comments that the original poster is likely never to see? Why does everything have to be some kind of personal attack, or bitter, or angry?

    This is becoming a distraction.

Yeah, I don’t know if it’s a feature here or not, but can we please have the options to edit/delete comments? Sometimes one types a comment with a ton of typos or something that they later realize is inaccurate and wish to alter it.

Why is Sasha Lane’s profile half empty? Who edits it? I thought we already established that John Stanley D’arcy Tuck is her grandfather then why does it only say “Sasha’s maternal grandfather was named John Stanley D’Arcy Tuck. John was born in Taumarunui.” And also her paternal side. I provided a link in the comments. (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VDCR-FDR) <- Her father: Kenneth Lane and his parents Courtney Lane and Lizzie Lewis.

I'm not sure if Sasha is māori or not. I could be that Sasha is about 1/32nd or 1/64th māori like Clarke Gayford or Russell Crowe but both Clarke and Russell's ancestors had māori names. Most māori gave their children a māori middle name/nickname even if they married white settlers. Example: Clarke's great grandfather was Donald Te Rangikahekeiwake Wright and Russell's grandfather Stanley James Taihoa Ira Wemyss. None of Sasha's ancestors have māori names.

Well, I put in what I could verify. How do you know who Lizzie Laws’ parents were, with certainty?

As for her mother’s side, I just don’t have confidence in all of this maternal. I haven’t seen someone lie about having Māori ancestry, and Lane has made this statement repeatedly, so I would like something I’m more certain in.

For example, some of these tweets, though more incidental:
      https://mobile.twitter.com/SashaBianca23/status/694754423180890113?p=v
      https://mobile.twitter.com/SashaBianca23/status/793945677025996800?p=v

      But especially this one:
      https://mobile.twitter.com/SashaBianca23/status/740327242031497216?p=v

It could also simply be that whoever made the ancestry tree for her maternal grandmother was wrong.

      • andrew says:

I think her mother may have 1/8 or less Māori ancestry (basically one grandparent with Maori ancestry).

The fact she tried to speak to Sasha in Māori does not automatically mean that she is Māori, but it may be a clue. Māori language is the second official language of NZ, and even some Pakeha people speak it.

      • comrade says:

That last one made me think her mum was Māori but everyone in NZ knows that wh is pronounced f and some white people can speak Māori too so that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s māori (look at Jacinda Ardern).

From what I can gather from her social media she’s never been to NZ but her brother has and he never even mentions the word māori or posted any pictures of a marae (meeting house). He doesn’t mention being māori at all.

I’ve asked Sasha what her iwi (tribe) is and no reply. She would know that if she was Māori. That’s what makes me skeptical. I think she glorifies New Zealand and thinks that because her mother is from NZ she must also be māori but not everyone in NZ is māori.

But I could be wrong. If she posts a picture of one of her māori ancestors or she states what iwi she belongs to, I’ll eat my words. It would be interesting to know what iwi (tribe)/waka (canoe) she is descended of, if any.

“haven’t seen someone lie about having Māori ancestry.”

“It could also simply be that whoever made the ancestry tree for her maternal grandmother was wrong.” I think Judith’s sister Beverly made the ancestry tree. I’m quite certain that’s Judith’s sister as there’s a Beverly mentioned in their father’s obituary.

        Lizzie Lewis:
I thought Lizzie might have been this child mentioned on the 1940 census: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:K43C-JC1 They lived in San Jacinto, Texas which isn’t far from Harris, Texas where Kenneth was born. But on reflection it could also be this Lizzie Lewis born 1924: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VDSS-ZDK

        Lizzie’s grave: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/128507874
Lizzie is buried in Coldspring Cemetery in San Jacinto, Texas. So I thought she might be the child from San Jacinto, Texas but now I’m not so sure.

I’ll post a link and screenshot of the ancestry tree in Sasha’s comments.

Dan Carter has NEVER said that he is Māori, because he is evidently not.

The only source which claimed that is this: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=10648090

There was a an Internet rumour back then that he was even part Tongan.

I remember well that during/after Rugby World Cup final 2015 in Twicknham, his profile was the most searched here.

          • andrew says:

NZ Herald source has even been cited for long time in his Wikipedia profile, which said “Carter is of Pakeha and Maori background/heritage”.

          • andrew says:

And mind that NZ Herald is the biggest kiwi newspaper.

That article was made because the Canterbury Crusaders (the most successful rugby franchise/club ever since rugby became professional in 1995) were accused by some to employ only white players. However most of those ones described as having Maori ancestry still look like normal white guys.

          • comrade says:

I thought he did. Sorry. I don’t really follow the guy.

          • follers says:

I don’t contest her grandparents’ names, other than her grandmother Denise’s last name.

But as far as I can see, all the genealogical information on her mother’s side is tied to her grandparents through ancestry.com family trees, which I’ve seen be wrong many times. (one of which, though I’m not sure whether it traces Denise’s side, was made by a woman who may or may not be her aunt).

Actors don’t always respond to questions on their social media accounts.

          • comrade says:

@follers she likes to respond to other peoples questions but not when someone asks her if she’s māori. There aren’t even a lot of people asking her if she’s maori. Only here: https://twitter.com/bars271279/status/808969725350854657 (and me). That’s it.

I agree there can be mistakes in ancestry trees and there is one on her mother’s paternal side (most likely because JSD Tuck’s parents separated when he was young) but why would Sasha say she’s Māori when her (most likely) aunt Bev knows that she isn’t? If that is aunty Bev which I think it is.

I believe Sasha’s brother more than I do her and he never mentioned anything about being Māori.

    • follers says:

To be clear, Myron Dewey isn’t Māori, so she’s not referring to him.

    • Oaken05 says:

This all should have been discussed on her actual page, really.

  4. jackson9 says:

Ethnic, mind helping me get onto ethnic connect website? It would be greatly appreciated. thanks

  5. jackson9 says:

I am saddened I am begin censored. My last comment wasn’t racist. I am not a racist. Insisting an ethnic group has an “inferiority complex” which “everyone knows” is more racist than anything I have been advocating. People insisting I am a racist one question…. which group do I hate? seriously I really don’t know. I am a devout Christian. I believe we are all created in Gods image equally. Genealogy is my passion. I have certain fetishes with cultures that I find fascinating but ALL cultures are special and unique. Sincerely, Bearboy/Jackson9

    • follers says:

For pete’s sake, AvaSnow said something racist, which you responded to, saying that it was racist, so I deleted her comment and then your response, which was no longer necessary and was a response to thin air. Isn’t this blindingly obvious?

      Enough already.

    • andrew says:

      @Jackson9

Unsure of what “racist” you may have said.

Any ethnic group of any kind can be racist.

So you get racism acts in the likes of Israel towards Jewish minority groups, or against Afrikaners in South Africa by Black African people. But in certain media it seems only the Europeans are the racist ones.

Other than that, the real modern plague is the politically correctness, that is beyond any level of imagination.

An example of that is the Israel Folau saga which happened in Australia.

      • jackson9 says:

Andrew, I am aware of both examples you gave, South Africa (racism working both ways) and Israel, the Ethiopian Jews that immigrate to Israel have a tough time being discriminated against, yes along with other Jewish minority groups. I am not a fan of the media (left or right wing) I prefer to watch C-Span quite honestly and let the talking heads preach to other people. My only question is how is this relevant to the conversation I brought up with all due respect?
