Harmony Korine is an American film director and screenwriter. He has one child with his wife, actress Rachel Korine (née Simon).

His paternal grandparents were Iraqi Jews. His mother, who is also Jewish, is of at least part Ashkenazi descent.

Harmony’s paternal grandfather was Heskel Shaoul Korine (the son of Shaoul Korine and Nouam Miechel). Heskel was born in Baghdad, Iraq.

Harmony’s paternal grandmother was Joyce Yishak David (the daughter of Ishaq/Isaac/Yishak Shlomo David and Semha Kadouri/Kadoori) Joyce was born in Baghdad, Iraq.

Harmony’s maternal grandfather’s surname was Wrubel.

    I’m pretty sure his mother is at least partially Ashkenazi. Her maiden name is Wrubel.
