George Sisler was an American professional baseball player. He was a first baseman, who spent 15 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). He was also a player-manager. He was nicknamed “Gorgeous George.”

George was the son of Mary Rebecca and Cassius C. Sisler. He was partly raised in Akron.

George’s paternal grandfather was the son of Lewis Sisler and Margaret Marsh. Margaret was the daughter of Adam Marsh and Margaret Catherine Esche.

George’s paternal grandmother was the daughter of Michael Justes and Margaret Hoy.

George’s maternal grandfather was named Pierce Whipple.

George’s maternal grandmother was Louisa Ann McFarland (the daughter of Daniel McFarland and Joanna Arnold). Daniel was the son of Daniel McFarland. Joanna was the daughter of Roba Bollou.
