Fernando de la Rúa was an Argentinian politician. A member of the Radical Civic Union, he served as President of Argentina, from 10 December, 1999 to 21 December, 2001. He was previously the 1st Chief of Government of Buenos Aires, from 6 August, 1996 to 10 December, 1999.

President de la Rúa was the son of Eleonora/Leonor Felisa (Bruno Boeri) and Antonio de la Rúa Catani. He was married to Inés Pertiné Urien, until her death. The couple had three children. One of them is lawyer Antonio de la Rúa.

President de la Rúa’s paternal grandfather was Manuel de la Rúa Agulla (the son of Manuel Simón de la Rúa Agull and Julia Lucía Agulla Vieta). Manuel was born in Bueu, Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain.

President de la Rúa’s paternal grandmother was Blanca Catani Nunciatti (the daughter of Carlo Tito Catani and Cleófite Nunciatti). Blanca was born in Florence, Tuscany, Italy.

President de la Rúa’s maternal grandfather was named Mario Bruno. Mario was Italian.
