Elize du Toit is a South African-born actress. She was born in Grahamstown, and her family immigrated to Berkshire, England when she was fourteen years old. Her mother is artist Susanne du Toit, who was born in Pretoria. Elize is married to British actor Rafe Spall, with whom she has three children.

Du Toit is a common Afrikaner surname of French Huguenot origin.

Elize’s patrilineal line can be traced to François du Toit, who emigrated from Lille, France, to South Africa, in 1686. Actress and model Charlize Theron and tennis player Roger Federer also descend from him.

    No need to mention French huguenot as all Afrikaners have french in them. Also the word huguenot is unnecessary as catholics and protestants in France aren’t genetically different.

      Nope, the legacy of Huguenots is so important in the culture, politics and econony of South Africa that you can’t omit that word.
