Dylan O’Brien is an American actor, musician, and director. He is known for his roles on the series Teen Wolf and in the films High Road, The First Time, The Internship, The Maze Runner trilogy, Deepwater Horizon, American Assassin, Flashback, Love and Monsters, Infinite, The Outfit, Not Okay, and, in voice role, the title character in Bumblebee.

Dylan is the son of Lisa (Rhodes), an actress who ran an acting school, and Patrick Broderick O’Brien, a camera operator. He was born in New York, and initially raised in Springfield Township, New Jersey, then moving to Hermosa Beach, California when he was twelve. Dylan’s father is of Irish descent. Dylan’s maternal grandfather was of half English and half Spanish ancestry, and Dylan’s maternal grandmother’s ancestry is Italian.

Dylan’s paternal grandfather was Dennis Richard O’Brien (the son of Michael Joseph O’Brien and Ellen E. Lacken). Dennis was born in New York. Michael was the son of Irish parents, John Martin O’Brien and Elizabeth Pilkington, from Kerry. Dylan’s great-grandmother Ellen was also the daughter of Irish parents, from Mayo, Martin Lacken and Ellen Moran.

Dylan’s paternal grandmother was Julia Marie Broderick (the daughter of Patrick “Pat” Broderick and Margaret Daly). Julia was born in New York, to Irish parents. Patrick was born in Tipperary, the son of Thomas Francis Broderick and Elizabeth “Lizzy” Hickey. Margaret was born in Cork, the daughter of Timothy Daly and Julia.

Dylan’s maternal grandfather was Cecil Alvarez Rhodes, Jr. (the son of Cecil Rhodes and Maria Nieves Menendez Alvarez). Dylan’s grandfather Cecil was born in New York City. Dylan’s great-grandfather Cecil was born in New York, to English parents, Thomas Rhodes and Annie Holt, who were from Lancashire. Dylan’s great-grandmother Maria Nieves was Spanish, born in Asturias, Spain, the daughter of Ramonin Alvarez and Felicidad Martinez Menendez.

Dylan’s maternal grandmother likely is Betty Ann Secino (the daughter of Thomas Anthony Secino and Emma Pezzolesi). Betty was born in Massachusetts, to Italian parents. Thomas was from Ruvo del Monte, Basilicata, and was the son of Giuseppe Secino and Rosa Maria Guerra. Emma was the daughter of Nazzarene Pezzolesi.

He is irish, english, and german and welsh. He is not italian or spanish at all

Yeah he is. You must be thinking of the Mestizo “Spanish”. A lot of Mexicans and other Mestizo Hispanics love to call themselves Spanish and hate claiming their Indigenous heritage (when they look predominately Indigenous). This is really annoying. The really Spanish people are white.

    Look typical Italian.

      not really

He looks more Italian/Spanish than Irish for sure as often most Irish/med mixes look, they always take more after the med side than north. Med features are dominant, north recessive. Just like how Travolta, Evans, and Milo all look more southern. Just saw a guy the other day look like Evans who was Italian. People have a weird view of Italians, they are the most diverse country in Europe both phenotypically and genetically. No other country in Europe can boast such extreme changes in phenotypes from region to region as Italy can. People have a very weird idea of Irish people as well probably based on American actors who are usually mutts. Normal Irish people are usually quite pale, and despite America’s romantic view of Irish, most Irish men look pretty bad. Probably as bad as the English i’d say. Usually don’t take care of themselves, overweight and dress horribly. There’s only a few Irish who can pass as psuedo meds like Dylan, but they are far from the majority. First time I saw Dylan on Teen Wolf I didn’t know he was Italian at first glance but I knew he was something extra of the mediterranean variety. Irish people don’t look like that on averaqe. Even the darker toned ones tend to have pale skin and borreby-esque features.

Even in the example andrew just gave with “Johnny Sexton”, that guy CLEARLY doesn’t look mediterranean. I would never mistake Johnny for mediterranean he has clear British isles looks. British dark people like him clearly still look British. Where as Dylan could pass in med countries. Same with Brits like Russel Brand, The Beatles and Mr Bean these guys all clearly have this strange look that can only be from the British Isles lol

India and Ethiopia can challenge Italy.
