Daniel Sunjata is an American actor. He is also known as Daniel Sunjata Condon. He was adopted at the age of two months, by Katherine and William Condon. Daniel is said to have African-American, Irish, and German ancestry by birth. He has been told that his biological father was black and his biological mother was white. His adoptive parents are white.

He is named in honor of African king Sundiata Keita, who founded the Mali Empire. The name means “hungry lion.”

    We need a “birth name” category on here like on every other page where we know the birth name. His birthname is Daniel Sunjata Condon; he uses “Daniel Sunjata” as his stagename.

      If the birth name is missing, either it’s the same exact name as the stage name or it’s not known. In this case, Condon is the surname of his adoptive parents, not his actual birth name.

        Yeah, after I posted I thought about it a bit more. Though, my thought is that birth mother’s often don’t give a child an adoptive name on the original birth certificate and they almost always don’t have a surname put on. All of this is especially true if the bio mother decided before the child’s birth to offer the child for adoption.

        But, since we don’t know any of that, yeah, it’d be best not to add the name on his amended/adoptive birth certificate.
