Date of Birth: 16 June, 1978

*German (father)
*Spanish (mother)
Daniel Brühl is a Spanish and German actor.
He was born in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, to a German father, Hanno Brühl, a television director, and a Spanish mother, Marisa González Domingo. Daniel was raised in Cologne, Germany. He grew up speaking Spanish, German, and French, and understands Catalan and Portuguese. He is a German and Spanish citizen.
Daniel’s father was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1937, presumably to German parents.
Daniel is married to psychologist and model Felicitas Rombold, with whom he has two children.
He looks equally Spanish and German.
Yo, dude looks like a lighter pigmented Eric Bana, fo’ realz.
Also, picture, please. :-)
His father was actually born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1937. That is interesting. Were his father’s family German Jews who moved to Brazil because of the Nazis?
possible, but in Brazil there has been a huge German emigration
I know, but I found it interesting that presumably his father or his father’s family returned (?) to Germany at some point (after WWII?).
Brazil got rid of him
Most Spaniards have distant Sephardic ancestors. Who cares?
His father could be Jewish, but I doubt it. I think he would have mentioned if he was by now instead of saying he is German.
But he could be like Jessica Biel and not know he has a Jewish great-grandparent.
Daniel is technically Latino like Gisele Bundchen.
Well, his mother is Spanish, so of course he’s Latino. :-)
He is not latino, he was born in Europe, not latin américa, Giselle is latin because was born in Brasil, latin américa.
If he is latin because her mother, who speaks a language derived from latin, Monica Belluci, Marion Cotillard , Eva Green……for example and the rumanians are latin too.
labered with the europeans.
Did you know that a lot of english words have a latin origin?
Eva Green is not ‘Latin’ though, she’s half Germanic (Swedish) half Middle Eastern (Jewish), she was just born in France.
@lelo4 I think the poster was saying that anyone who speaks a Latin language regardless of their ethnicity would be Latino or Latina (i.e. Eva Green’s mother is a Sephardic Jew who speaks French) if we were to go by those guidelines.
I think for them a Latino is only someone who was born and raised in Latin America.
What are you saying?
That would be you.
