Dami Im is a Korean and Australian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. She was placed second in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.

Dami was born in South Korea, and moved to Australia with her family at the age of nine, living in Brisbane. She is the daughter of Im Dong Eal (or Dong Eal Im in Western name order) and Lee Hae Yun (or Hae Yun Lee in Western name order). She is married to Noah Kim.

Dami belongs to the Pungcheon Im clan, which originated from Kwail County, South Hwanghae Province, North Korea.

Her patrilineal line can be traced back to her 29th great-grandfather, Im On, who was a general-in-chief during the reign of the King of Goryeo, Chung-nyeol.

Dami’s paternal grandfather was Im Chang-il. He was born in Iksan, North Jeolla Province.

Dami’s paternal grandmother is named Hong Gi-suk. Her own paternal line can be traced back to Hong Ji-gyeong, who was known for mastery of Korean classic writings.

Dami’s maternal grandparents were Lee Suk-young and a woman surnamed Moon. Suk-young was born in Hamhung, South Hamgyong Province, North Korea.

A MyHeritage DNA test taken by Dami stated that her genetic ancestry is:

*29.1% Mongolian
