Cindy Crawford is an American supermodel, actress, and television personality. She was one of the biggest models of her era. She also starred in the film Fair Game.

Cindy is the daughter of Jennifer Sue (née Walker; re-marriage surname Moluf) and Daniel Kenneth Crawford. Cindy is married to businessperson and model Rande Gerber; their children are Presley Gerber and Kaia Gerber, both of whom have also modeled.

Cindy has English, one eighth Danish, Scots-Irish/Northern Irish, Scottish, German, distant Irish and Welsh, and remote French and Jersey Channel Islander, ancestry. Some of her family lines have lived in the United States since the 1600s.

Cindy, along with her then-husband, actor Richard Gere, were selected People Magazine’s “Sexiest Couple Alive” in 1993 (instead of the annual “Sexiest Man Alive”).

Cindy’s paternal grandfather was Kenneth Leroy Crawford (the son of David P. Crawford and Amelia Christina/Christine Maria/Marie Hansen/Hanson). Kenneth was born in Luck, Polk, Wisconsin. David was in Ballymoney, co. Antrim, Ulster, Ireland, the son of James Paul Crawford and Isabella McCaughey. Amelia was born in Wisconsin, the daughter of Danish parents, Ebbe Hansen and Agathe Mary/Marie Christine Christenvisen/Christensen.

Cindy’s paternal grandmother was Ramona Eileen Hemingway (the daughter of Frank Randall Hemingway and Hazel Mae/May Brown). Ramona was born in Winnebago, Faribault, Minnesota. Frank was the son of Louis Randall Hemingway and Carrie May/Mae Salisbury, whose parents were Canadian. Hazel was the daughter of Thomas William Brown, whose parents were English, and of Mary Jane Marsh.

Cindy’s maternal grandfather was James Richard Walker (the son of James D. Walker and Leola M. Wheeler). Cindy’s grandfather James was born in Memphis, Shelby, Tennessee. Cindy’s great-grandfather James was the son of William Samuel Grundy Walker and Mary Williams Sneed. Leola was the daughter of Samuel S. Wheeler and Rachel/Rachael Jane “Jennie” Carman.

Almon was the son of Thomas Jefferson Montgomery and Rachel Ann Lemasters/Le Master/LeMaster. Ada was the daughter of Frederick/Fred J. Kallembach and Sarah/Sally/Sallie C. Pardon.

Please don’t ever compare Cindy to Lana. Cindy is one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen. Lana looks like every woman at WalMart.

  2. andrew says:

Moluf is possibly the re-marriage surname of her mother.

Yes, Cindy Crawford most definitely looks like she has an exotic non white admixture in her, like Kim Kardashian, there has to be an Arab, Middle Eastern or native American in her DNA. Its not just because everything on her is brown, she looks ethnic and foriegn, outside of America and Europe. She should take a dna test. I also thought I heard she was native american too.

She looks just white, i don’t know what you are taking about. She was on a show where she tracked her roots and it went back millions of years and stayed in England. So yeah, she’s just white.

      • M says:

No she does not. She looks mixed with some ethnic race.

A distant maternal ancestress of hers, Theresa Thomca Widiom (wife of Daniel Kallembach) was born in Germany, but apparently has a non-German surname (her middle name “Thomca” also incites pondering). I speculated Theresa may have been German-Jewish… May have been (!), not “was”…

Another of her ancestors with unusual surnames is Sallie Pardon. Her family tree as well as surname origin are a mystery as well.

The majority of her ancestors are white Europeans, though, so I guess the “dubiously European” genes are barely present anyway.

I can never tell if people like “M” are neo-nazi types or super liberal politically correct types because they both have the same, very weird caricatured assumptions (i.e. all Anglos/North/Northwestern Europeans are pale, blue or green eyed and hair haired, or else they must be part (Arab, Latin, Native-American etc.)).

          It’s really ignorant.

Free clue: There are many full blooded English/German/Dutch people who have dark hair and eyes and can tan well, and many full blooded Italians/Spaniards/Greeks who are fair haired and fair eyed with light complexion. Northern Europeans aren’t always pale blue eyed blondes and southern Europeans aren’t always swarthy brown eyed and raven haired.

I think I remember seeing something like that but it wasn’t millions of years right? It was to the 15th century or something.

      • midori29 says:

@Thomas1987 , England has always had alot of Arabs and middle easterners in their population.

        • ectag says:

Nonsense. They don’t even have a significant amount of Southern European admixture. There is and have always been full blooded Brits with Cindy Crawford’s coloring.

        • Alice says:

@midori29 – People that say things like that should link to something. England hasn’t always had a lot of Arabs and Middle Easterners in their population. I wish people wouldn’t talk nonsense and just stick to facts. There has even been a recent genetic study on Britain called the People of the British Isles (PoBI). I would recommend people to read it instead of saying things for which they have no evidence.

You really need to get out more. She must have “exotic non-white admixture” because she has brown eyes and hair?

Kardashian doesn’t have any “exotic non-white” ancestry btw. The most exotic thing in her background is Armenian (Armenians are Caucasian).

  4. Boog says:

what is this? 1/8th Danish, smaller amounts of Irish and French

This is beyond stupid: how do you measure “smaller” and “and”

you cannot pin point nationality or race this way

    • ectag says:

Actually you can with genetic markers (easier to do with race than ethnicity, especially when the ethnic groups are in a similar geographic location). But those fractions are based on the ethnic origin of her ancestors.

In any case she had her DNA examined on one of those TV shows where they look at the “DNA of the stars” and there were no exotic non-European DNA or even any southern European DNA.

      She’s entirely Northern European.
