Charlyne Yi is an American actor, comedian, musician, writer, and performance artist. Charlyne co-wrote, and starred in, the film Paper Heart, and has also been featured on the shows House and, in voice performances, Steven Universe, We Bare Bears, Summer Camp Island, and Next Gen.

Charlyne’s father, Luciano Yi, was born in Mexico. Charlyne’s mother, Lydia, is from the Philippines.

Charlyne’s maternal grandfather was Godofredo/Fred Olalia Manianglung (the son of Ambrocio Manianglung and Aquilina Olalia). Godofredo was born in the Philippines.

Charlyne’s maternal grandmother was Geronima Mendoza Mutuc (the daughter of Mariano Mutuc and Marciana Nacpil). Gernomina was born in Bacolor, Pampanga, Philippines.
