Catfish Hunter was an American professional baseball player. He was a pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for the Kansas City/Oakland Athletics and the New York Yankees.

Catfish was the son of Mary Ludia and Abbott Shepard Hunter. He was married to Helen. He lived on a farm in Hertford, where he grew soybeans, corn, peanuts, and cotton.
