Armand Duplantis is a Swedish and American pole vaulter. As of 2021, he is the indoor record holder, with a height of 6.18 metres and a world best (outdoor) of 6.15 metres, and is the Olympic champion. He is nicknamed “Mondo Duplantis.”
He is the son of Helena, a heptathlete and volleyball player, and Greg Duplantis, a pole vaulter. His father is American; he is Cajun, and also has small amounts of Spanish and German ancestry. His mother is Swedish, from Avesta, Dalarna. He has two brothers, Andreas Duplantis, who has represented Sweden as a pole vaulter, and Antoine Duplantis, who has pole vaulted and plays baseball.
Armand is a U.S. and Swedish citizen. He began representing Sweden in 2015.
