Angourie Rice is an Australian actress. Her roles include the films These Final Hours, Walking with Dinosaurs, Nowhere Boys: The Book of Shadows, The Nice Guys, Jasper Jones, The Beguiled, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and its sequels; Every Day, Ladies in Black, Daisy Quokka: World’s Scariest Animal, in voice role; Senior Year, Honor Society, and Mean Girls (2024), and television’s Black Mirror: Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too, Mare of Easttown, and The Last Thing He Told Me.

She is the daughter of Kate Rice, a writer, and Jeremy Rice, a director. She has lived in Melbourne.

    I knew a scottish person with Rice as their last name but its entirely possible he wasn’t 100% Scottish. I tried looking for more information and only found that the surname Rice was only present in Scotland between 1840 and 1920.

    IMO – from the look of her jaw and large cheeks, probably a high mixture of German

    additionally, Rice is both English (15-17c), but also transliterated Germanic for “Reiss”
