Ana Matronic is an American singer. She is the lead vocalist for the group Scissor Sisters. Her stage name is inspired by her love of robots.

She was adopted by her stepfather James Lynch, whose surname she took; hence the assumption that she has Irish ancestry. Ana is married to Seth Kirby.

Ana’s paternal grandfather was Harold Anthony Bettendorf (the son of Peter Gregorius Bettendorf and Margaret Demuth). Harold was born in Aurora, Illinois. Peter was the son of parents from Luxembourg, Anton Bettendorf, from Heffingen, and Magdalena Gregorius. Margaret was the daughter of John B. DeMuth, who was from Luxembourg, and of Margaret Schmars, who was a German emigrant, from Lahr, Baden-Württemberg.

Ana’s paternal grandmother was Lucile M. Powell (the daughter of Harry Miller Powell and Madeline L. Bauer). Lucile was born in Portland, Oregon. Harry was the son of Calvin C. Powell and Alice C. Miller, and had some deep roots in the U.S. Madeline was an ethnic German emigrant, from Norka, Saratov, Russia, and was the daughter of Adam Bauer and Catherine Elizabeth Kniss.

Ana’s maternal grandfather was Thomas Curtis Pemberton, Sr. (the son of Woodward B. Pemberton and Cora Daisy Copeland). Thomas was born in Columbia, Missouri. Woodward and his parents were from Kentucky. Cora was the daughter of James Edward Copeland and Margaret Jane Denton, and had deep roots in the U.S.

Ana’s maternal grandmother was Gretchen Mason Sherman (the daughter of Morris Chamberlin Sherman and Gertrude Mason Michael). Gretchen was born in Alabama, and had some deep lines in the U.S. Morris was the son of James Edgar Sherman and Emma Colton Morris. Gertrude was the daughter of George J. Michael, whose father was Alsatian and whose mother was from Germany, and of Ida Byrne Vaughan.
